(More customer reviews)I ordered one of these as a factory reconditioned unit.It arrived in good condition with minimum packaging.The saw is permanently branded near the handle with "RECON" and has a sticker that says "Skil Reconditioned."The box is clearly marked as reconditioned, as well.

The saw regularly sells for $90 at our Lowe's, but is $59 as a reconditioned unit.I have had a number of factory reconditioned items over the years and never had a problem with any of them.Service from this seller was prompt and there were no shipping charges.

This saw has a very sturdy steel base that will not flex, resulting in accurate cuts once set for any bevel angle or depth of cut.Many quality saws flex when the far corner of the base is pushed with the thumb.It feels a little heavier than many saws today, but is still lighter than my old saw, which has considerably less power.The handle is very comfortable, which is important for accurate use.There is no laser guide, but the levers for adjusting bevel (blade angle) and cutting depth are very easy to use.I like the depth scale for quick and accurate settings.

The saw is made in China, if that matters to you.At 15 amps. it is powerful and should handle any job you throw at it, especially with a good blade.The construction is all ball bearing.

With the reconditioned unit the included blade is only stamped steel, not carbide tipped, as comes with this saw when not purchased as a factory reconditioned unit.But, at this price for the saw, you can go to Home Depot and get a 28 tooth blade with carbide tips for $5 - $10 and still be ahead.

When I first put the blade on, both blade washers came off together and I had to do it right the second time.I am used to saws where the washer closer to the motor does not come off of the blade shaft.I do like the wrench storage at the back of the saw's base.

The edges of the saw's base are parallel to the blade, so the blade will not heel when ripping.This is a very nice saw.
