Since it is a set of 2, it moves the blade over about 1/8 inch, which means I can't use my riving knifeon the saw, but since I am a homeowner doing stairs and floors and such, I work slowly and carefully. The stabilizer does a good job andis inexpensive. The description did not say 2 plates, so I was hesitant, but when I received it, it was indeed 2 plates.
