It's nothing too fancy, but it has everything you need. It's very well balanced, it's strong, and it's a whole lot quieter than other saws (with ear plugs it's almost pleasant sounding).

I tried a left handed PC that just didn't work for me.Buying this I thought it would be comparable, but I ended up liking everything about this saw better.The blade that it came with made smoother cuts and it just feels better in your hands.Heck, the lcd light has even come in handy a time or two.

Bottom line-there's nothing not to like about this saw and there's no better deal out there for a top notch saw.

The Makita 7-1/4-Inch 15 Amp Circular Saw with LED Light and Blade provides a well balanced design for superior handling and performance. With a powerful 15 Amp motor for a high power-to-weight ratio, this saw delivers a no-load speed of 5,800 RPM. Operating independently from the trigger, the on board LED light illuminates the line of cut.
The saw is made with a ball bearing construction, a heavy gauge aluminum wraparound base, and flat motor housing for increased stability when changing blades. A conveniently located shaft lock makes it easy to replace blades. The saw bevel cuts 0 to 45 degrees and has a 1-3/4-inch cutting capacity at 45-degrees. A cutting edge centrifugal fan and baffle cool the motor for high performance cutting on extended jobs, and an AC/DC switch allows for use with alternative power sources.
