Don't let the Metal Cutter title fool you!This is an Awesome saw for all wood applications.

This saw is very lightweight, accurate and a dream to use.Blade changes are easy and the allen wrench is stored on the saw itself.The arbor lock makes changing the blade a breeze.Sawdust removal is simple and well thought out.Overall an excellent product.Though no battery or charger was included; an outstanding storage/carrying case was part of the package.

I had previously purchased a Panasonic Drill and Impact Driver Li-ion and it came with two batteries and the charger.It also included an offer for a free Li-ion batter which I collected and now use for this saw.

Panasonics EY4542XM 14.4-Volt multi purpose metal cutter delivers a cool, quick, clean cut in a compact, lightweight tool. The multi purpose metal cutter rotates at a speed of 3,600 rpm and uses a 5-3/8th C-6 tungsten steel carbide-tipped blade with 30 teeth and a 1/16 thin kerf. The blade uses a chipping action rather than an abrasive action which results in a much quicker cut. With the exceptionally thin blade kerf it cuts clean with no need for de-burring after cutting. The EY4542XM has an adjustable base plate that delivers cutting depth from 1/8 to1-13/16, minimizing the blade wear and maximizing the cutting efficiency. The blade cutting edge is easily visible through the clear window on the blade guard. The EY4542XM is ideal for cutting pipe, strut, threaded rod, metal stud, wood and plastic. The EY4542XM offers a full complement of convenience features including an LED work light, electric brake, a fully enclosed blade, a spindle lock button and a three way dust control system. The EY4542XM is compact in size 13 long and weighs only 5.7-Pound. The ergonomic design delivers a comfortable contoured rubber grip. The EY4542XM is powered by a 3.0ah cobalt Li-ion battery pack which delivers high output with low heat generation resulting in twice the lifetime total performance versus current Ni-Cd battery packs. In addition the EY4542XM utilizes Panasonics unique GuardION system. The GuardION system monitors each battery cell during battery charging and during tool use to prevent over discharging and overheating of the battery pack thus insuring long life. A self diagnostic universal battery charger electronically monitors the condition of each battery cell in the battery pack during the charging process to deliver full charging with minimal heat generation. The 3.0ah Li-ion battery pack fully charges in 50 minutes. The EY4542XM is sold as a tool body only.
