The Steel blade is best suited for 1/4" materials. When possible use a Thin Steel blade on 1/8" and under mild steel materials. Also, blades will spark once the carbide tips are worn off. This usually happens when the machine is pushed through the work piece. Try easing back. As you know, you can't do to metal what you can do with wood. If anyone is wondering if this applies to them to here's how to know for certain: Take the blade off and look around the arbor hole.Did the flanges scratch your blade? If so then its time to ease off!M. K. Morse Technical Service can help anyone with a question or concern.

This blade is probably good for cutting regular steel siding but when I used it on Cor Ten or Iron Ox steel siding it lasted an afternoon. I am now using the fiber blades at 2.99 each from Home Depot.

Product Description:
For a super high-impact blade that powers through ferrous metals with clean, burr-free cuts, look no further than the Freud D0748F Diablo 7.25-Inch Ferrous Metals Saw Blade. This is your go-to blade for slicing through ferrous metal components such as steel sheets and piping with smooth, non-abrasive accuracy. For strong, long-lasting resistance, the pre-tensioned blade features Triple Chip Grind technology and high-density carbide tips.

Achieving premium results when working with ferrous metals is all about making precise cuts with clean, flat edging. The Freud D0748F makes this process easy, fast, and precise. This blade is expertly constructed with TCG (triple-chip grind) teeth protected by a special carbide blend, designed to deliver outstanding resistance to the powerful impacts of steel cutting.
Contractors, steel erectors, HVAC installers, and other steel fabricators will want to keep this blade on hand for all jobs that call for cutting ferrous metal components that measure 1/8-inch thick or thinner, such as steel studs, sheets, and piping.
(Note: this blade is for mild steel only.)
Produces Smooth, Quiet Cuts with Laser-Cut Kerf
The Freud D0748F's clean-cutting design means that you can enjoy the comfort of smooth performance. The thin 0.102-inch kerf between the blade's 48 TCG (triple-chip grind) teeth is laser cut to provide ease of feed, so you have more control over the blade's position. This helps maximize both the accuracy of the cut and the efficiency of your work, so you enjoy a job well done and the ability to complete more tasks in less time.
An added bonus, the blade's laser-cut stabilizer vents reduce noise and vibration during operation, keeping your work environment more relaxed and your hands more in control. This feature also reduces friction to the blade, helping extend its cutting life.
Features Shock-Resistant Carbide for Long-Lasting Precision
So you can count on it over the long term, the Freud D0748F is designed for durability. The blade's hardy teeth are protected by Freud's exclusive shock-resistant TiCo Hi-Density Carbide formula, which helps fight wear and tear and maintains blade sharpness up to four times longer than standard carbide.
The blade owes its robust performance to its premium-grade steel, which is hardened to HRC 48 for an optimum level of durability. And protecting the blade is a Perma-Shield Non-Stick Coating, which provides resistance to heat and corrosion.
Fits Circular Saws
The Freud D0748F is a great addition to your workshop because it is designed with the versatility to fit a variety of circular saws.
This product is covered by Freud's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

I just recently started running the Freud Steel Demon in my DeWalt multicutter. They do a remarkably good job of cutting steel when they are sharp.Unfortunately the blades dull relatively quickly (in about the time I would use up 3-4 cheapo abrasive blades..... minimal down pressure is the key to making them last).

I wanted to make sure if there were any special requirements regarding sharpening so I contacted Freud Web Tech.

Imagine my surprise when I was informed that Freud specifically states that they are NOT to be resharpened. When I responded to Freud that this wasn't a good investment on my part (cost per cut just went through the roof) I was asked where I got the blade.

I was told that Freud does not sell these blades in the U.S. but rather that "a couple hundred" were donated to Habitat for Humanity, and it was suggested to me that they had been "lifted" from Habitats warehouse.

There are a number of sales outlets for these blades (Amazon, Ebay, specialty houses) I am just a one man shop and I bought 6 of them.Does this mean that I now own nearly 3% of the entire supply of 14" Steel Demons?

If Freud was so unhappy with these blades that they would not sell them here, why give them to a bunch of amateurs trying to do good at Habitat? Especially with the potential for serious injury in relatively unskilled hands.

The blades are about equal to the Dewalt blades in durability for the initial service life, but if they really can't be re-sharpened, they become throw aways. At $100.00 plus per blade for a throw away, I guess I will have to stick with DeWalt.

The blade gets a 2 only because of the resharpening issue.

Freud gets a zero for this whole incident.

New 4 Inch Wet Tile Granite Marble Circular Saw w Blade Review

New 4 Inch Wet Tile Granite Marble Circular Saw w Blade

It's a scam! Stay away from this product (and for all CTM products I believe). I never saw such a low quality product. The instructions were stupid, useless, pueril and very mispelled. Then first, the blade had neither one particle of diamond on it, so you could not cut stone or etc. So I bought a blade. I had to do some improvise because the arbor was 20 mm, not 7/8". Then the wet system didn't work as well, so I had to improvise to make it work, but still wasn't reliable. Then the big thing: not even at the half of the job, the bearing broked and for my curiosity, I disassembled it and some of the bearing balls were broke, because they were EMPTY inside!
So stay away from such no brand name, cheap things. It's a waste of money and time.
I don't believe that Amazon deal with such scamers! I am disapointed and in the future I will be very carefull buying through Amazon.

It does the job well for its size and money. I am cutting aluminum rectangle to length. Cuts it quickly with minimal loading. Saves me a lot of time in comparison to cutting it by hand with a hack saw. This was the primary reason for its purchase. Stores easily and compact. Standard size blade for replacement or alternative cutting configurations. Was a good purchase.

Malco MCCB7 7 1/4-Inch 56 Tooth Metal Cutting Saw Blade for Standing Seam Roof Panels Review

Malco MCCB7 7 1/4 inch 56 Tooth Metal Cutting Saw Blade for Standing Seam Roof Panels
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchase two of the Malco 7.25" metal cutting circular saw blades.I'm working on a project where we were pouring a concrete slab over some 18 gauge, corrugated metal pan decking. We had to recut all of the panels because the slab is curved. The project would have taken a lot of time, and money, to cut with abrasive blades or using a reciprocating saw.Cutting the material would have been hard and with questionable results using a torch.I had planned ahead on this and had these blades in hand before I started.I cannot tell you how easy it was to do the job using the Malco blade on one of my Skil Saws.It was actually fun to do all the cutting.I used only one blade for cutting over 100' of the metal decking. This translates into cutting over 200' of 18 gauge material. The blade remained very sharp until about the last 10' of cutting. It dulled fairly quickly in the last 10'.Other than loosing only one of the carbide points, the saw was in very good shape.I still have one new blade and the other is now at the saw shop being reground for another day.

The saw blade seems to run cool and doesn't appear to throw sparks like an abrasive blade does.Sparks are really bad on products such as painted metal roofing. The sparks burn into the paint causing rust streaking and early failure of the metal finish. This blade throws small flakes of steel that seem to be quite cool and don't burn.I look forward to using this blade to cut the metal roofing that will be going on this house.

Several notes of caution in doing this work. You WILL need hearing protection! You will also need a very good pair of safety glasses. The third thing is that you need to have the correct saw. There are saws specifically designed to use these metal cutting blades. They are sealed to the outside in a way that the small metal "sawdust" cannot get inside the motor. Some even have a little box that catches a good portion of the "sawdust."The saws are pretty expensive and I will get one in the future, but I have not determined which saw is the best for my needs. What I did in the mean time was use one of my Skil 8.25" saws.I covered all of the air ducting slots by using a piece of the filter cloth from a perforated, plastic drain pipe and some electrical tape.It was quick, easy and sealed the saw nicely.I have a friend in the steel fabrication business that has several dead Skil Saws because of this very problem.Be forewarned, don't waste a perfectly good saw; put a diaper on it!
