Ridgid R3202 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw Review

This definately is a decent saw. It's light (10 oz I think), The balance is great, feels great in your hands & has decent power. Wet wood, being PT or rain wet, sometimes slows down. Dry 2x4's, 2x6's no problem. I like the kerf mark, very easy to line up cuts & has a small trench that kinda mimics the blade kerf. It also has decent sight line of cut. The Ridgid has a 12ft power cord, which is a little longer than most and a lighted plug end, which displays power to the tool. It has no secondary trigger/safety switch like the other contractor saws. I personally hate the safety switches, everybody gets that the trigger turns it on, if you don't want it to turn on accidently, keep your hands off the trigger. It has a stop at 45 degree bevel, but I didn't check for accuracy. Also features a velcro cord wrap

The downside: with deeper cuts it can be challenging using a speed square because the motor housing gets in the way, No case, no rip guide (makita gives you case & guide) plastic depth gauge lever, and plastic bevel lever. I noticed that when you pull the depth lever up to loosen & adjust depth, the unit has side to side slop. The other saws are fixed when you loosen lever. Other saws, such as Makita, Milwaukee are fixed and only move in and up & down plane, with no side to side slop. When you tighten the depth lever on the Ridgid, it does seem to square up, but it does not instill a feeling a accuracy. I see by their design that the bevel & depth are on the same pivot point, which is the reason for the side to side slop when lever is up, but I still don't like it, seems cheap. It does have a 56 bevel but it's hard to deploy the button to go past the 45 degree, not a good design there. This is very minor but the magnesium shoe is deeply grooved/trenched with a box/diamond pattern for stability, it's a pain blowing it clean at the end of the day, saw dust/particles seem to cling to the deep grooves (not a huge deal, but I try to keep my tools & truck clean). You can get this same saw at the big box store for $99, and at that price it's a great saw. DIYer's will love it, plenty enough power for their needs, feels great in your hands but I think for a contractor with daily use & abuse the plastic parts will not hold up & you might find you'll need more headroom for power (even though it is a 15amp). Ridgid does have a lifetime warranty on this tool. Perhaps you could justify wearing one out & getting another; but I have heard that can be a 50/50 shot of it working where Ridgid honors that deal and if you're a contractor & it breaks time is money. So thats the long & the short of it and BTW I opted for the time is money thing & took it back & bought a Makita 5007MG. For the price listed here, you could put down a few more bucks & get a Makita or Milwaukee

I've used this blade for a while now and love it.Even had a master trim carpenter use my TS and his only unsolicited comment was, "That's a nice blade you have in your saw", 'nuff said.

Freud D1280X Diablo 12-Inch 80 Tooth ATB Crosscutting Saw Blade with 1-Inch Arbor Review

I bought this blade with somewhat high expectations.I figured the cut wouldn't be as smooth as the Freud LU85, which is twice the price, but had to be smoother than the stock 40 tooth blade that came with my bosch 4212L, which it was.One small problem - the blade did not make a straight cut.Every cut I made had a scallop at the entry point of the blade into the material. The blade was straight when checked against a straight edge so the edge must oscillate as it spins.A check with the stock blade and a new Dewalt woodworking blade confirmed that the saw cuts perfectly straight.I definitely won't buy another diablo blade.I would give 5 stars to Amazon for their return policy - they took it back with no issue.

The Freud D1280X's clean-cutting design means that you can enjoy the comfort of smooth performance. The thin 0.118-inch kerf between the blade's 80 Hi-ATB (alternate-top bevel) teeth is laser cut to provide ease of feed, so you have more control over the blade's position. This helps maximize both the accuracy of the cut and the efficiency of your work, so you enjoy a job well done and the ability to complete more tasks in less time.
An added bonus, the blade's laser-cut stabilizer vents reduce noise and vibration during operation, keeping your work environment more relaxed and your hands more in control. This feature also reduces friction and warping, helping to extend the blade's cutting life.
Features Shock-Resistant Carbide for Long-Lasting Precision
So you can count on it over the long term, the Freud D1280X is designed for durability. The blade's hardy teeth are protected by Freud's exclusive shock-resistant TiCo Hi-Density Carbide formula, which helps fight wear and tear and maintains blade sharpness up to four times longer than standard carbide. And protecting the blade is Perma-Shield Non-Stick Coating that provides resistance to heat and corrosion.
Fits Miter Saws
The Freud D1280X is a great addition to your workshop because it's designed with the versatility to fit a variety of miter and sliding miter saws.

Ridgid R3203 Saw, Fuego Circular 6 1/2-Inch Review

Ridgid R3203 Saw, Fuego Circular 6 1/2 inch

Very surprised that I like this saw as much as I do., as I prefer left blade but some cuts are better with a right blade saw. Most right saws have poor sight line of the cut. This saw has usable front and rear indicators as well as the blade itself from the left side, which is whereI prefer to look at.Cuts straight freehand in part due to sight line is kept clear, low friction base , feels good in balance and handling and hi speed cut.Got a good review in tools of the trade. All the plastic makes me concerned, but it does have a lifetime service agreement[at least on the ones bought at HD].HD stores do not not carry them any longer as the constantly discontinue items for who knows what reasons other than sales figures. I did have to tighten the rear shoe rivet . Generic bag is OK but prefer molded case for protection.
