(More customer reviews)Bought the saw in Jan-08 and have been using it for a major moulding project.I've borrowed a Craftsman "Professional" compound miter saw in the past and learned what I would look for if I ever purchased this type of saw.When you buy this saw, I feel you get higher quality things you need, not a feature laden saw with mediocre components.You'll appreciate the tall fence, the blade guard, a dust bag that actually catches sawdust, a high quality miter table/gauge without stickers, a 15 amp motor, and a stout and sturdy frame.The miter lock is so much nicer than a screw type, and the detent override comes in handy for those angles close but not quite at the standard angles.

The saw I used in the past would collect sawdust between the swiveling miter table and the miter gauge, eventually making it difficult to adjust your angle, eventually forcing you to take the table apart for cleaning.I'm very impressed by how smoothly this table adjusts from side to side.

For trim work, I have found you just don't need to buy a saw with lasers and clamps and whatever else.Just buy the right saw the first time, a sturdy one like the DW713.

(More customer reviews)While I am not new to power tools (I am an avid DIY'r, and HVAC tech).This was my first purchase of a powered compound miter saw.I had no problems with the manual that came with it, besides who really reads those?The unit for the most part is self explanitory.I had it mounted to my bench downstairs in about 20 mins, plus 15 mins to go to the hardware store for some lag bolts.Operation and adjustments were easy.Cuts like a dream.The only thing i can say bad about it, isnt really bad.I would have liked to be able to cut 8" baseboard with it but it doesnt have the capacity.I should have done more research prior.But for all my other uses, crown moulding, quarter-round, trimming out a window, I had fun and they look great.I would recomend this saw for those who arent looking to spend an arm and a leg.Plus as an added bonus, it's super light for mobility.

(More customer reviews)I bought this same saw about a year ago at Lowes, I paid something like $150 for it.It's a great saw, really smooth and comfortable to use.Works great for cutting trim boards, but I've also used it as a chop saw to cut 2x6's, it doesn't bog down one bit when cutting larger stock.It's a little heavy, but to me that just means it's built better.It's also quiet compared to other miter saws I've used.This is definitely a great deal!I'm almost tempted to buy a second as a backup!

The laser line marking the place where the cut is to be made is most useful because it allows you to make precise cuts. The price was excellent and think I had a great value.

Additionally, the delivery service was first class and arrived here when it was promised.

(More customer reviews)I bought this blade with somewhat high expectations.I figured the cut wouldn't be as smooth as the Freud LU85, which is twice the price, but had to be smoother than the stock 40 tooth blade that came with my bosch 4212L, which it was.One small problem - the blade did not make a straight cut.Every cut I made had a scallop at the entry point of the blade into the material.The blade was straight when checked against a straight edge so the edge must oscillate as it spins.A check with the stock blade and a new Dewalt woodworking blade confirmed that the saw cuts perfectly straight.I definitely won't buy another diablo blade.I would give 5 stars to Amazon for their return policy - they took it back with no issue.

(More customer reviews)Got this blade for my Dewalt 705 miter saw.Very pleased with result.Cutting 2" Red Oak on 45degree miter and/or bevel the reconnected pieces are seamless.A glued up miter has a gap that consists of only the glue thickness.Struggled between this and a Forrest Chopmaster.I find it hard to believe the Forrest blade could possibly be better, and I'm certain it could not be twice as good (which is the difference in price between the two).

(More customer reviews)Needed to cut a bunch of aluminum fencing.The instructions with the fencing just said use an electric miter saw.Nothing about what kind of blade.That would have been a catastrophe, as googling will tell you.And I didn't want to damage my 12" Makita sliding Compound Miter Saw, imo the best miter saw available at that radius or smaller.So I bought this blade and am very glad I did.Still, I went fairly slowly through the complex extrusion, and if there was any play against the fence, there was a tendency for blade grab.It has to be rock flush to the fence.Not the glass smooth cut that the stock Makita blade makes in wood, but that can not be expected.Cutting flexible plastic rail lining was more dicey, and some chippingof the plastic even with very slow feed occured.I doubt there would have been any trouble with more rigid plastic, such as pipe.A cutoff bonded carbide blade can really mess up your wood saw, thus this is the blade to get for non-ferrous.Hasn't seem to dull in hundreds of cuts. Very tough carbide, very happy with it.
