(More customer reviews)Bought the saw in Jan-08 and have been using it for a major moulding project.I've borrowed a Craftsman "Professional" compound miter saw in the past and learned what I would look for if I ever purchased this type of saw.When you buy this saw, I feel you get higher quality things you need, not a feature laden saw with mediocre components.You'll appreciate the tall fence, the blade guard, a dust bag that actually catches sawdust, a high quality miter table/gauge without stickers, a 15 amp motor, and a stout and sturdy frame.The miter lock is so much nicer than a screw type, and the detent override comes in handy for those angles close but not quite at the standard angles.

The saw I used in the past would collect sawdust between the swiveling miter table and the miter gauge, eventually making it difficult to adjust your angle, eventually forcing you to take the table apart for cleaning.I'm very impressed by how smoothly this table adjusts from side to side.

For trim work, I have found you just don't need to buy a saw with lasers and clamps and whatever else.Just buy the right saw the first time, a sturdy one like the DW713.

That I could use my angle grinder to cut through deck boards with nails in them and then get underneath and cut the metal joist hangers and the joists all in one motoin with one tool..... my own angle grinder. Yep you heard correct I used this thing will cut metals, woods,fiberglass,and multiple layers of stuff with this one blade its amazing but equally efficent and fast. Once mounted (unit goes over your factroy angle grinder guard and is tricky to mount first time but did it on second try). I was able to blast thru wood with ease and absoulty no kick back in fact I tried to make the blade do it and still nothing. The cuts are smooth and have used it for laminate flooring. I bought the 6 pc kit with carver blade and use it for my log furniture making and it is so fast and clean it needed almost no sanding after. So much safer and faster than my old lancelot carver made from a chain saw blade.One thing to remember is these are carbide blades and we all know that carbide is brittle, I found out the hard way that if my work wasnt clamped or secured when cutting metal it stared to vibrate and I knocked off some teeth. Good instructions and pictures for assembly. Will post some pictues of the stuff I cut and made.

This is a great clamp for doing quick and dirty cuts, but do not expect your cut to be perfectly straight as it can flex if you apply pressure against it. It is perfectly fine for most circular saw cuts as long as you don't press to firmly against it, but a router adds way to much pressure and you won't end up with a straight cut. Get the wider model if you need it for routing or extremely straight circular saw cuts.

I have a Bosch 4000 that I truly love & believe its the best 10" saw in it class, but its heavy and I don't always need the capacity of that saw. This "little" DeWalt is perfect for ripping 1x stock for trim work & the like. I've even had it up on my scaffold. I've found the fence to be dead on and very easy to adjust. The motor has plenty of power. I think DeWalt hit a home run with this saw...Now if it only came in a cordless version!!

(More customer reviews)I have had this saw for a few weeks now and am very happy with how smooth it cuts everything.I used it to trim off an overhang on a kitchen counter and it made a very smooth cut through both the laminate and particle board underneath.Also, I have used it to make some cut-outs in the plywood for a sub-floor and the cuts are very smooth.The blower works very well so that you can easily follow your cut line.
This saw is rather heavy for a jigsaw but the weight helps to absorb any vibration.The price and weight are both high but if you want a smooth and powerful jigsaw take a look at this one.
