(More customer reviews)I received the hand held circular saw from a very deer family friend - and can't even put words to how wonderful it is to have it. It's just so utterly and completely handy and works as you would think something like it should. I was just so excited when I saw various replacement blades, for the tool, that I bought them as reserve blades, meaning I haven't used them yet nor this one (all being for various different materials). I don't see hand held miniature circular saws at stores but looking online, they show up here and there. I really wouldn't wanna be without one - is this model and brand the best one out there? I really couldn't tell you, but I'm completely happy with what I have but then again, I could "not know what I'm missing" right?

(More customer reviews)I have been using this saw for years professionally, it is a must have for the master carpenter who demands clean cuts and wants to save time on intricate cutting and scribing operations.
I have gone through a few of these over the years and am currently getting a new one.
I am surprised by the less than popular reviews, this is not meant to be used as a replacement for an electric skill saw or for heavy cutting operations like continuous rips.
This tool is best used in finish work and for special cutting operations like back cutting before sanding a scribe on a counter top for example.
I have also used it to cut out drywall in remodel work etc, saves hecka time.
This saw cuts clean and accurately it's amazing how much time you can save with this thing.
When you need a more powerful saw, use one, this saw would not be a good choice for heavy work such as riping sheets of plywood all day as it is only a 12 volt tool.
I recommend this saw to finish carpenters and cabinet installers for special cutting.
I have purchased 100's of power tools over the years and have used all the major brands of cordless and electric tools in all categories in commercial construction.

(More customer reviews)if you use it for what it's meant for, trim and thin stock. I know that after burning one out cutting both sides of 2" oak with one after leaving my old Rockwell 6 1/2" saws in my shop one day. Fortunately, Porter Cable will rebuild them at the factory for a very reasonable price. It's good as new now.
This is a pro's tool, so it doesn't have all the cutesy attachments that home users have come to expect. It will, with the appropriate blades, do a nice job on plexiglass and formica as well as wood.
I'd recommend thin kerf blades with this, and keep 'em sharp.It's more a finish tool than anything else.

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent replacement saw blade for the porter cable 314 saw.I was apprehensive at first due to the cost, but I needed something better and felt the forrest name would be a good risk.I glad I made this choice as it save me time and money in the long run.

I found that it cuts very smoothly and clean.The blade requires less effort when cutting a 3/4 hardwood plywood and does it with no splintering.I also found I could start with a finer 220 grit sandpaper to achieve a fine edge finish.This means squarer end for a more professional finish.

I don't have a big shop and am not set up to cut 4X8 plywood sheets on my table saw.I normally have to use my circular saw to do preliminary cut and do the finish cut on the table saw.This blade on my porter cable has replaced my table saw for many of the longer cuts and elminated me having to use my table saw again to get a clean end cut. As the result this has save me the cost of wood and time to set up for recuts.

The only disadvantage, if any, is the wider kerf cut due to the carbide teeths.I had to make a slight compensation in my measurement to get the exact cut.

I would highly recommend this blade for any cabinetry work.

(More customer reviews)I bought this blade as a replacement for a Craftsman 3 inch saw.It is a handy tool for plunge cutting and similar niche type work.The blade is great.Looks and works identical to the Craftsman.The saw itself will cut 3/4 inch plywood if you are patient and let the saw do the work.A little cheaper than Craftsman for what looks like the same blade.
