(More customer reviews)This is my first skill saw I have purchased. I actually purchased the 15 amp version of this saw but the blade adjustment did not work. I returned it to lowes and they didn't have any more in stock so I came down to the 13 amp one. I was building a simple workbench and found that this saw really did the job. It had some difficulty getting through the 2x4's where the blade would actually stop spinning but the motor would keep running, but that may be because I was pushing too hard (I am relatively new at this). It would also not finish smoothly causing some splintering (again that may be my fault as well). It really cut through plywood and other, thinner, woods with ease. I LOVE the grips on these. They are not hard plastic like the other brands have and found that it was the most comfortable of them all. The laser guide was nice, but it is still good to draw a line to follow (or use a plain old guide). I was actually disappointed the 13 amp version did not come with the guide like the 15 amp did. At any rate, this is an great tool for a first time buyer and I would recommend it for a typical home user, not really for contractors and the lot.
