(More customer reviews)The 7670 dado set replaced a very good Freud SD208. The 7670 set has (6) 4-tooth chippers as opposed to the Freud's (5) 2-tooth chippers. The 7670 also has 24 tooth outside cutters....twice what the SD208 had. The result of the extra teeth is a smoother bottom on dados and rabbets. The SD208 left minor striping marks on the bottom...it's a small issue, but is nice not to have the marks at all. It also seems to make cleaner cuts along the edges.

The shim stock and carrying case are much nicer on the 7670, however the its teeth have smaller carbide than the Freud, and the chippers aren't as massive. Because the chippers are lighter weight due to the lack of any anti-kicback features, the 7670 comes up to speed faster, and allows deeper cuts with less bogging down on my saw....an added benefit I had not expected. Other than being made in China, I have no big issues with the set and am happy that I upgraded. It's design is more similar to dado sets costing over $200. I've been quite happy with the overall performance and especially the great value.

Since Black & Decker purchased Delta well over a year ago, this set is now available under both the DeWalt and Delta logos, which should make it easier to find.

(More customer reviews)This is my ultimate saw blade for everything I do in my very modest shop except oak ripping (burns the cut sides).For plywood ripping, you must keep the wood moving at least slowly or you might burn the sides of the cut also, because the edges of the teeth are very slightly beveled to create the polished effect.Plywood ripping is not nearly as fast as a regular blade.Nonetheless, your cut will be so fine that it is remarkable!

For oak cross-cut you must also not stall the cut (keep it moving) or else you might burn the edges, but the cut itself will appear polished.Fantastic for fine-finish mitering etc.Even if you don't use it as much as I do, I still would recommend it as part of your supply chain.

(More customer reviews)Yesterday, I was ripping some laminated 12/4 white oak using my 7657 blade.The cuts were jointer quality, with very little burning.I own a couple of Forrest WWII's, but the 7657 is the most on my saw. For less than half the price of a WWII, you get the same or better performance. With the 30 day satifaction guarentee, if you are unhappy with the blade, just return it for a full refund.

(More customer reviews)I have owned this set for a number of years now and I have found it has quite a few shortcomings.First of all, the cuts produced by this set are a bit rough.The bottoms of the dado cuts are not as smooth as I would like and there is some tearout, especially if you are using the set on plywood.These blades also seemed to dull rather quickly (during normal use).There are a few paper shims included, but I rarely use these anymore since I basically only use this set for "rough" work now (building backyard stuff from treated lumber).

I recommend that you spend a bit more for a Freud dado set...

I use this 60 tooth on my miter saw and get super clean cuts in all kinds of wood! I have an Oshlun 50 tooth blade in my table saw for general cutting work and it handles everything just fine!! Even hen I cut plywood I don't get much chip out.
