(More customer reviews)The saw is very useful for remodeling, including for use in cutting openings for windows through studs.Also it is great
for cutting 4x4's in one pass.The shoe however is very flexible, made of sheet metal, and in fact came pre-bent.I guess that was so I did not have to worry about bending it myself.The result is a rounded and rather unstable base.
I suggest that Milwaukee redesign the shoe and get it up to the same level of quality as the rest of the saw.

(More customer reviews)This is an exellent value overall. It compares to the Mafel saws without the dreadful expense. The power is about right for the size of this saw, considering the Mafel counterpart is 240 3 phase and has a little more gutsbut the versitility of being able to use regular 115 volt single phasepower more than makes up for the shortage of guts. But, with a saw this bigit may not be such a bad idea to feed a little slower anyway. The fence ispretty much what you would expect for the price but the good news is thatSperber out of New Hampshire makes a replacement fence that is second tonone. It will make cuts good enough for most uses unless you are cuttingtraditional joinery and need that type of precision. As might be expectedyou can throw the blade aside and expect to buy a real saw blade. Overallconsidering the money spent this is the best 16 incher on the market. For afew extra dollars you can make it a real precision tool. Great saw!

(More customer reviews)Bought the saw last week and used it on a project cutting glue laminated beams.Thought it was a little bit over priced but once I saw it in person, realized it was quite a substantial saw.I read the reviews concerning the Milwaukee and came to the conclusion of boning up more money for the Bigfoot.I suggest you do the same.

I was bummed that this saw didnt offer a case like the Milwaukee.None the less, you are getting a high quality saw.That is what really counts.

Nothing beats the performance of a worm drive saw.

(More customer reviews)I recently finished using the prazi beam cutter for a large timber arbor and gazebo. I was faced with the option of spending $4k on a Protool beam saw or buying a worm drive circular saw and a Prazi beam cutter for under $500. AS THE ADAGE GOES, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR." It worked ok, but the cuts were not as accurate as I would have hoped for. Here is my list of areas they could improve on or points to be made:

One, the bar bounces around a lot when you begin to cut into a beam so you get sloppy cuts starting out.

Two, the chain would not stay tight. If they had used the same system that a conventional chain saw uses to tighten the bar it would be much better.

Three, it is not meant for ripping down a beam, it bounces and struggles the whole way.

Four, the rotation of a circular saw is counter clockwise which brings the sawdust up to the surface subsequently blocking the view of the line you are cutting on. THIS IS NO FAULT OF PRAZI, just a fact of adding on to a circular saw.

MY CONCLUSION:IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY FOR A PROTOOL BEAM CUTTER BUY IT! BUT IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE BUSINESS BUY THE PRAZI AND GET USE TO TIGHTENING THE BAR EVERY 10-15 FEET OF CUTS AND DON'T EXPECT THE BEST CUT. OVER CUT AND THEN PLANE DOWN TO GET A SMOOTH EDGE.
